Daimler TOS Group Training

Daimler Trucks NA Western Star Truck plant in Portland, Oregon has made a big switch from a competitive brand of framing to Bosch!  The team at Pacific Integrated Handling has been working with the TOS Group at Western Star for the last 4 years with Bosch Structural Framing and Bosch DC Cordless Nexo Tools.  Jeff Brydson, Bosch Sales at PIH, recently hosted a training seminar for Bosch Framing at the Western Star Facility.  PIH assisted in the set-up of their existing machine tooling, demonstrated correct machining techniques and identified optimal procedures and processes for working with the framing materials.  A Daimler designed cart with kitted material from PIH was used as the platform to demonstrate good assembly techniques for the group.  The teamwork, patience and support within the Daimler TOS group is outstanding!  The experience was positive all around.  PIH is looking forward to hosting our next on-site seminar in January 2018 with Bosch MT Pro Software training to speed up the design and review process for new projects within the Western Star Manufacturing plant.

Kind comments from our customer:

The onsite training developed and presented by PIH provided an accelerated learning curve for the Portland Truck Plant and the employees responsible for the design and build of materials presentation.

The quality of Bosch extrusion and especially the fasteners and connectors are far superior to other systems we have trialed (80/20 & Creform). Particularly the fact that additional steps are not needed to ensure connectors do not come loose (addition of lock tight etc.).  An example of which is 2 carts that we built, one out of Bosch & one out of 80/20. The Bosch cart has been in service for over two years and has not required any maintenance, while the 80/20 cart was requiring almost daily tightening of one fitting or another (eventually it was torn down).

The technical support to set up our in-house shop was outstanding. Not only did they provide quality advice but also the equipment suggested to streamline our own production has elevated our work shop to improved standards and safety.
