Outboard Flap Cart

The Outboard Flap Cart is a heavy duty cart built to support, transport, and rotate a 767 outboard flap. The modular aluminum frame lets one operator crank the part up to 30 degrees using a sealed, corrosion resistant gearbox, so the flap can be positioned for finishing, inspection, or installation without separate lifting equipment. Adjustable position cross pieces with high density foam padding cradle the part along its length, and locking casters hold the cart steady in place. Reinforced dual fork tubes let two forklift operators move the whole cart as a unit.

Features

  • Rotating Support Frame: Hand-crank-driven, sealed high-reduction gearbox rotates the part smoothly on corrosion-resistant bearings and shafting.

  • 30 Degree Hard Stops: Built-in stops limit rotation travel to 30 degrees on each side for safe, repeatable positioning.

  • Adjustable Position Cross Supports: Bosch Ecoslide carriages with Delrin bearings let supports slide and lock in position along the frame, cradling the flap on high-density closed-cell foam padding.

  • Dual Forklift Tubes: The frame is reinforced with two sets of fork tubes (36″ on center) so two operators can lift and move the cart together.

  • Heavy-duty swivel casters: 8″ RWM Omega shock-absorbing wheels for smooth mobility, with brakes and swivel locks available.

  • Spring Retractable Tow Hook: Lets the cart be towed into place and stowed out of the way when not needed.

  • Retractable Pin Bracket: Holds the pivoting frame in the horizontal position for safe transport.

  • Cam Lock Straps: Secure the part to the support arms during transport and rotation (strap details TBD on prototype, not included with cart).
