Heroes on the Water (aka HOW) is a Non-Profit Organization and the local NWest WA Chapter is 100% Volunteer based. “Our Mission: To help warriors relax, rehabilitate and reintegrate through kayak fishing and the outdoors.” We offer an outdoor therapeutic experience that yields independence, hope and recovery through mastery of a new sustainable life skill that helps restore their self-confidence. They learn a new sport that provides a lifetime of enjoyment that can be shared with family and new friends. The Therapeutic Studies show a 56% Reduction in overall Stress, 62% reduction in hyper vigilance and 63% reduction in avoidance behavior. Being a Non-Profit, we rely on the support of local businesses and individuals to help fulfill this mission. PADDLE. FISH. HEAL.

Having to raise funds locally has always been a struggle for us, but through the generosity of local business like Pacific Integrated Handling, we are able to provide our local Veterans, First Responders and their families with Free Kayak Fishing events throughout the year. PIH has been a huge supporter for our local NWest WA Chapter since 2014. They have helped us to purchase our Enclosed 16ft Trailer used to haul kayaks and gear to our events. Every month, they help to provide the food that is cooked onsite at our events, sometimes feeding 40 to 100 Participants and Volunteers. They have also provided Bosch Structural Framing used for our smaller trailer and other transport/storage solutions. For all of this we say “Thank You PIH”.
